When should you keep your student home? One of the difficult decisions we make as parents! Some thoughts to consider when asking yourself this question: We have over 800 students in our care on a daily basis, including children with chronic medical issues as well as immunocompromised students. If we send our children to school and they are symptomatic, we are putting our staff and other students at risk.
School Policy states that you should not send your child to school if he/she has:
** Please be mindful if your student has a temperature of 99-100. This could be the beginning of an illness and it may be worth a day of rest to not worsen or prolong the illness.
Please review with your children how to cough (into a tissue or the crook of their arm), how to wash their hands, especially after blowing their nose, with warm water and soap, and remind them not to touch their eyes or their nose while in school. Encourage them to get enough sleep, eat nutritionally, and drink plenty of water!
We rely on parents/guardians to help keep all of our students and staff healthy! Reporting illnesses is helpful for us as well. Please always feel free to reach out with questions/concerns!
